The writing of an Idealist

Trading for a Living

As a result of many events and experiences in my life, and partly because of the state of the economy and a desire to be independent and secure, I have decided to manage my own financial future.

I used to believe that I could simply allow my husband to provide for me and my children (helping and supporting him as much as I could), but that it was a waste of time for me and unnecessary to master a skill that would provide additional income for my family, or an income for me if something happened to my family.

I have recently altered that opinion. There are many reasons to develop my own financial muscles (which I won’t go into here), but as a result of that thinking, I have decided to study and master trading (as in the stock market).

The outcome of this reasoning is that I am now reading Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder.

In a nutshell:

Elder focuses on the Psychology, Trading Tactics and Money Management of trading, with a focus on making it a full-time business that provides an income. “By opening Trading for a Living you have resolved to become a successful trader.” The most captivating line- “You can be free. You can live and work anywhere in the world. You can be independent from routine and not answer to anybody.”
